Your New Colour Palette Spring/Summer 2013 From Pantone

Greyed Jade, Monaco Blue and Poppy Red will be my colour choices for Spring/Summer 2013 thanks to Pantone’s fashion colour trend report.  The Fashion world is all a-buzz with the fashion week shows, inspiration and spectacle.  While you might not even be thinking about next spring yet, it’s never too early to get a jump on what we will be seeing from the catwalk to the high street!

This color palette reminds me of the macaron-inspired palette of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. Soft, girly, SO SPRING! Katy Perry, with her pastel locks and candy-coloured fashion predilection also matches the beautiful palette put together by Pantone (see pic above)

I noticed while watching the New York shows (from afar alas) that soft minty greens, deep indigos and rich oranges were featuring heavily.  I was surprised at first because mint green and, of course the 2012 colour of the year Tangerine Tango, were supposed to be THIS year’s palette of choice.  But I suppose, why change dramatically if it works?  Victoria Beckham’s gorgeous show used a rich tangerine to the fullest effect as she showed separates for the first time.  Mixing this bright juicy color with neutrals like navy, black and cream is really the way to go!

Jason Wu’s show used neutrals to show off the striking harness and softly layered designs.  Navy, soft Coral and Cream and Black featured.

More soft layers and lady-like mini skirts were shown from Donna Karan in pretty greys, mints and blues.

It looks like Pantone got it right!  I can’t wait to start putting my spring/summer 2013 wardrobe together.  All of the colours are very complementary and pretty.  And as a bonus, they will work for a wide variety of skin tones.  Let’s get our sorbet-glam on girls!
